First, I want to say thanks for the prayers, cards, emails and kind thoughts while Perry and I battled the lymphoma cancer found in my body earlier this year. After the initial scare, I am happy to report that I am finished with Chemo, have my strength back and my doctors report there is no detectable cancer in my body. God is good!
With that battle behind me and after prayerful consideration and the encouragement of my family, friends and supporters across Colorado, I have decided to run for the U.S Senate.
I want to tell you why.
Since President Obama and Senator Mark Udall went to Washington in 2008, Senator Udall has been one of the most reliable rubber stamps for President Obama’s failed policies.
The fact is since 2008, America has been drowning in a sea of red ink, with a debt now totaling almost $17 trillion. And, according to a recent report, “it’s nearly certain that the (national) debt will more than double during the Obama presidency.”
The doubling of our national debt and the “train wreck” takeover of our health care system by the federal government that looms are just two of the destructive votes that Senator Udall rubber stamped for President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
Colorado needs a U.S. Senator that will fight back in Washington, not capitulate to the big spenders.
That’s why I need your help.
We owe it to our kids and our grandkids to get our country back on track. We can start right here in Colorado by replacing Senator Udall in 2014.
With your help we can do that. Please make a contribution today by clicking on the red donation button above.
*** Senator Udall was the deciding voter for President Obama’s disastrous $787 billion “stimulus.” A recent study issued last spring estimates the Obama stimulus may have cost taxpayers as much as $4.1 million a job;
*** Senator Udall was the deciding vote for the $2.6 TRILLION “ObamaCare,” which even Democrat Senators now admit is a coming “train wreck” threatening to throw us back into recession;
THE KEN BUCK STORY
Ken Buck learned the value of hard work from his grandfather, who opened a shoe repair store in Greeley in the 1930’s. One of three brothers, Ken worked his way through high school, college and law school as a janitor, truck driver, furniture mover and as a ranch hand. He even coached high school football while finishing law school.
Ken graduated from Princeton University where he played football for the Tigers. He received his law degree from the University of Wyoming in 1985.
After law school, Ken worked for Congressman Dick Cheney (R-WY) on the Iran-Contra Investigation and then became a prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice. In 1990 Ken joined the Colorado U.S. Attorney’s Office where he became the Chief of the Criminal Division.
In 2002 Ken joined Hensel Phelps Construction Co. in Greeley as a business executive.
Since 2004 Ken Buck has been elected Weld County District Attorney three times by large margins. He leads a staff of more than sixty people with a strong record of criminal prosecution and crime prevention. Since taking office in 2005 the crime rate in Weld County dropped 50%, one of the best records in the country.
A leader in his profession and community, Ken has volunteered and served on the boards of many important community groups. As District Attorney, Ken brought together community leaders to create the Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC). The Center has helped more than two thousand kids and their families get back on the right path in life.
The Greeley Tribune says Ken, “has been consistent in his stands on issues such as immigration, the growth of government and the need for more fiscal conservatism. He’s also taken a tough stance on crime.”
As a candidate for the U.S. Senate, Ken calls for a return to conservative principles to rein in the government, cut the massive spending, and pass a constitutional balanced budget amendment.
Ken’s strong, independent voice to reclaim our U.S. Senate seat has been heard and Coloradans are responding with passion and enthusiasm.
Ken Buck is Colorado’s grassroots choice for the U.S. Senate in 2014.
Ken’s wife Perry served two terms as Vice Chair of the Colorado Republican Party and is currently a Representative in the Colorado House. They live in Windsor where Perry owns a small business. Ken’s son Cody graduated from West Point and is a US Army Officer. Daughter Kaitlin is a business executive in Colorado after graduating from Clemson University.
